Wainer Mariuzzo
Born and raised in the province of Turin. Trained at Lancia.
Some say Wainer is Vincenzo Lancia's lost son
Ultimate precision in building the subframe. Huib's piano tuner, who also restores concert grand pianos, recognized it immediately. The tones are created by the tension in the parts. The tones, in turn, create the music.
Wainer was born in Giaveno in 1972. In 1988, his professional career began at the Lancia dealership in Giaveno (TO) and the Giaveno Race Team. Wainer has experience with Lancias from the 1960s up to and including Thesis and Ypsilon, including Integrales. Wainer started at Casa Lancia in January 2018. Because of Wainer's extensive experience with modern Lancias, we changed the company name from Casa Fulvia to Casa Lancia. Every Lancia is welcome. We still have the most experience, parts, and tools for the Lancia Fulvia.
Wainer holds all driving licenses, including those for coaches, trucks, and trailers. He's even trained as a private chauffeur. Wainer isn't addicted one driving style. He takes on the driver role that suits the situation. When we (Wainer and Huib) go to Italy with the Kappa coupé, Wainer drives and I navigate. Belgium, France, a bit of Switzerland, Piedmont. No tolls. Never faster than 105 km/h. I've never arrived in Italy so quickly and relaxed. That's how you can drive a Lancia, not with a high top speed but with a high average speed. We also had an excellent breakfast in Spontin (Belgian Ardennes) and lunch near Vesoul - Pontarlier, France. For us (Huib and Wainer), that's Lancia par excellence. Long distances, safe, relaxed, and arriving well in time.
However when Wainer tests a rally car, you have to be Sandro Munari or Miki Biason to keep up with him.
This is Wainer's page, but if I (Huib) may, the hairdresser. I find going to the hairdresser a boring affair. I've found a solution. I get my hair cut by Barbara in Giaveno (TO).
As long as my wife, Annabel, doesn't get her hair cut like Olivia Newton-John, I don't need my hair styled like John Travolta's. The reason I go to Barbara is that she dances while at work. That's a party. When you arrive in Piedmont, in Lancia country, a dancing hairdresser is brilliant. That's what I'm going for to Giaveno. And for dinner at Trattoria della Buffa. Equally brilliant. And, don't tell anybody, for top class engine work.
With a Lancia, the journey is a pleasure. Flaminia Coupé, Flavia (berlina or coupé), Fulvia (even the 2C), Kappa coupé. I bet Vincenzo also made a detour for a swinging hairdresser.
If you still have time for an aperitif around the corner from Barbara's, there's a good chance a mint-condition Appia will pull up.
La Lancia è uno Stile di Vita.
